Who is Dave?

It began when I was approached by a fellow slot car hobbyist with a broken power supply who wondered if I might be able to fix it. Having been an avid hobbyist for several years, repairing, restoring, and creating my own slot car components, as well as a Licensed Master Technician, fixing the power supply was no problem. Word spread and pretty soon my shop was filled with service requests. The thought of helping other racing enthusiasts appealed to me, and Dave’s Model Racing Engineering was launched.

My expertise in electronics and mechanical assemblies gave me a great start in this hobby. I started out as an apprentice, attended a technical school, and then went on to become a state certified technician. During my career, I worked for many companies including Panasonic, Sony, Acoustic Research, and a few others. I was involved with research, development, and marketing. I was fortunate enough to work with many talented people who stressed quality and attention to detail and shared my passion for excellence.

Dave’s Model Racing Engineering provides many services and slot car related items: Custom track and power units designed and assembled, repair and maintenance kits, tools, slot car parts, as well as repair of accessories like lap counters, power supplies, and many other items. Additionally, I provide repair and restoration of both vintage and new slot cars, which includes chassis and body preparations, a careful seven-step process.

HO slot car racers and hobbyists from California, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, and a host of other states rely on Dave’s Model Racing Engineering to meet their racing needs. The feedback has been incredible, “some of the best HO slot cars in the trade shows,” my customers have stated.
